Due to the volume of work the Studio’s weavers are currently working on and the impending delivery deadlines of some high profile pieces the viewing balcony opening hours are temporarily restricted to Saturdays only. This will allow the Dovecot weavers to fully focus on producing work at this time. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

From the balcony you can see the looms and weaving studio where the Dovecot weavers create contemporary hand woven tapestries and tufted rugs in collaboration with leading international artists, working on new commissions and collaborations. We are always delighted to discuss the commissioning of new work and we hold a select number of tapestries and rugs in our collection which are for sale. All of the pieces on display on the balcony are available for sale and a full sales catalogue is available from our website.

One of the pieces currently being woven by our Master Weavers is a large scale tapestry of Victoria Crowe’s painting ‘Large Tree Group’ created using only un-dyed British wools. Dovecot’s Master Weavers have created an innovative palette of yarns, individually selected and colour matched from wool gathered from flocks including many rare breeds and sourced from small scale British producers.
