David Cochrane is a Master Weaver at Dovecot. Initially undertaking a five year apprenticeship, David learned tapestry weaving traditions passed down through a direct line of weavers dating back to William Morris’s Studio at Merton Abbey. David has worked at Dovecot for over 32 years, and has been a guest weaver in many professional studios internationally including Paris, Germany, Canada, and Australia. David has worked on many prestigious commissions, including R. B. Kitaj tapestry for the British Library, and Victoria Crowe’s The Large Tree Group Tapestry which now hangs in the National Museum of Scotland.
