One of the first galleries to reopen in Scotland in July, Dovecot Studios is currently showing a major exhibition of post-war British design. Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant. Following the loss of the Edinburgh festivals this year, Dovecot is delighted to announce additional exciting events to look forward to:
The Pantry at Dovecot reopens on Tuesday 18 August serving hot and cold drinks alongside a selection of sweet and savoury snacks. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 2pm, The Pantry is the perfect spot to enjoy a break and coffee during a visit to Dovecot.
Dazzle Contemporary Jewellery showcases the best in contemporary design. Dazzle 2020 opens on 22 August until 12 September and will feature 50 jewellers showing over 2,000 pieces, which are all available for sale. Beyond jewellery, leading textile designer Margo Selby and printmaker Gillian Murray also feature, allowing a further glimpse into exceptional contemporary design.
CLOTH, a curated selling showcase of independent makers who design and create works using textiles also returns this year. A limited selection of designers will present their work on the Tapestry Studio Viewing Balcony at Dovecot, with further designers selling their work as part of an online event. Both events will be hosted on 22 and 23 August with 15% of sales donated to The Dovecot Foundation.
