• Doug Cocker: Themes and Variations
    Alex Robson

The Scottish Gallery proudly presents Themes and Variations by Doug Cocker in partnership with Dovecot Studios, showcasing the masterful work of one of Scotland's foremost sculptors. Cocker has undertaken many public sculpture commissions including the Ben Lomond Memorial at Rowardennan and the Glasgow Bouquet in the Merchant City, Glasgow. Sculpture is the artist's response to the landscape and natural environment around him. Working predominantely in wood, his studio in Lundie, outside Dundee, is a magnificent thinking space where the walls are littered with evolving ideas.

"Cocker succeeds in fusing the often oppositional languages of sculpture and painting, creating imagery which stansa in the compelling middle ground between abstract form and poetic analogy."

- Neil Camerson
