Dovecot x Collect will be available to view online until 26 March via Artsy.

For the first time, Dovecot Studios are tkaing part in Collect, the international art fair for contemporary craft and design. Joining over 30 international galleries, Dovecot present a curated online display showcasing tapestries and hand-crafted rugs created with contemporary artists including a landmark new piece with Scottish artist Jock McFadyen.

Glimpsing behind the scenes, Dovecot will share the creation of a new gun-tufted rug inspired by a painting by McFadyen throughout the fair, while the online exhibition features tapestries and rugs created with Sir Peter Blake, Barbara Rae RA RSA, Jim Lambie, Liz Rideal, and Kurt Jackson. Exploring the role of weaver as designer, several works designed and woven by the Dovecot weaving team will also be on display.

About Collect
Collect is one of the world’s leading art fairs for contemporary craft and design having been established in 2004 by the Crafts Council. Collect brings together international gallerists, expert in their fields, to showcase and sell work by living contemporary craft artists.

At a time when the pandemic is preventing us from coming together, a physical fair will not take place at Somerset House where we held a very successful Collect 2020. Instead, Collect 2021 is working in partnership with online art platform Artsy.net where each exhibiting gallery will have their own online ‘booth’ to display their artists’ work for sale.
