Tapestry Studio Viewing Balcony | Mon-Fri 12-3pm, Sat 10am-5pm | Free admission

Direct from London Craft Week, Dovecot presents a display of embroidered postcards by textile designer Laura Lees. Depicting modernist architecture from the Royal Commonwealth Pool to the University of Edinburgh, journey to the city’s modernist icons through the medium of embroidery.

Coinciding with our current exhibition, Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant, Pinboard: Postcards from Edinburgh is an ongoing project that rekindles Lees’ relationship with her home city, while also celebrating Scotland’s mid-century architectural gems. View Edinburgh from a new perspective and marvel at these unique embroidered vignettes.

About Laura Lees
Laura Lees studied tapestry at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Dundee and has made embroidery a central tenet of her varied artistic, commercial, and collaborative practice. She now works predominantly in interiors, creating embroidered rooms, textile hangings and bespoke upholstered furniture.
