• THE SCOTTISH GALLERY AT DOVECOT STUDIOS: CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY

Andrea Walsh, Faceted Pins, 2018
Aventurine, nude and black glass with white precious metal

Discover a selection of outstanding contemporary jewellers at Dovecot in a special display curated by The Scottish Gallery to complement the current exhibition by photographer David Penny titled SCREEN FOR ANOTHER FOCUS.

Featuring the work of An Alleweireldt, Millie Behrens, Dorothy Hogg, Christoph Straube and Andrea Walsh who have been selected by Christina Jansen and Kirsty Sumerling, the display highlights the ways in which contemporary jewellers are combining precious and industrial materials to create a cool contemporary aesthetic. The jewellers hail from Scotland, England, Norway, Belgium and Germany and reflect Edinburgh’s important position as a European centre for celebrating contemporary craft. All jewellery is available for sale.

At the same time, new work by Andrea Walsh is being showcased at The Scottish Gallery on Dundas Street (until 2 June), Modernist Jewellery is on show at National Museums Scotland (until 15 July) and in June, Dovecot is hosting the General Assembly of the World Craft Council.
