Dovecot Studios, an award-winning visitor attraction, is Scotland’s only working-tapestry studio. Located in the heart of Edinburgh Old Town, just round the corner from The Pleasance and The Festival Theatre, this is a unique and quirky venue perfect for a Festival Fringe performance.
This space is ideal for rehearsals or performances; a white studio space with natural light and wooden flooring, it can accommodate up to 40 people theatre style.

Studio 10 is £36.00 (including VAT) per hour
Dovecot have a fully licensed in-house café, run by award-winning caterers The Pantry, where visitors can fuel up before catching a show.
There are also many exciting events happening at Dovecot Studios during July and August attracting up to 20k visitors to the building, including:
- Julie Cope’s Grand Tour: The Story of a Life by Grayson Perry – Dovecot presents an exhibition on the work of the ever-popular artist, celebrated Turner Prize winner, and self-styled ‘unapologetic fetishist’, Grayson Perry.
- Dazzle Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition – Dazzle, the major annual jewellery exhibition, returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for its 36th edition featuring 60 contemporary jewellers showing over 3,000 pieces.
- CLOTH #19 Fair – Dedicated to raising the profile of independent textile designers and makers from across the UK, Cloth is must attend shopping event this summer.
Dovecot Studios is a fully accessible building with wheelchair access to all levels with public toilets and baby changing facilities.
