Dovecot raise over £25,000 for Archie Brennan exhibition

Dovecot would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the recently ended Art Happens campaign to tell the story of Scottish weaver and pop artist Archie Brennan. Thanks to 267 contributors we raised £25,633.

These generous donations allow us to bring together Archie Brennan’s masterpieces from the UK and further afield to stage the first major exhibition of his work, due to be held at Dovecot Studios in March 2021. The funds raised beyond the target will also go towards sourcing and shipping Archie’s work. As he lived abroad for much of his life, seminal tapestries are held in collections all over the world and further funds allow us to seek these out.

Updates on the progress of bringing Archie’s tapestries together and the details of the exhibition will be shared in the coming months, and for those who chose a reward, these will go into production soon and updates will be sent.

The entire Dovecot team greatly appreciate the support of all donors and champions, particularly during these challenging times.
