Dovecot’s Events Coordinators, Leigh Ward and Jane Myles, welcome a special event to the Tapestry Studio today as Queen Margaret University (QMU) honor the scholarship and awards successes of over 30 students.
QMU alumnae, Leigh and Jane will also celebrate their own achievements, as the event marks a year since they gained employment with Dovecot via an ongoing partnership with the University.
According to Professor Joe Goldblatt FRSA of QMU, who facilitated the successful partnership between Dovecot and the University:
“Queen Margaret University is a university of ideas and influence. Therefore, when Dovecot Studios first approached us for help they strongly supported our idea of employing and also providing continued training from QMU for our recent event management graduates. In only one year this partnership has greatly influenced the professional growth for both of our event management graduates and positively improved the business results for their employer. This is the type of effective partnership outcome we welcome in the future from others”.
As part of this partnership, Professor Goldblatt, Executive Director of the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events, has continued, over the past year, to provide mentoring support to Leigh and Jane and events business development advice to Dovecot.
The QMU scholars and award winners of 2016 will be joined at Dovecot this evening on Wednesday 9 November, by the University’s Chancellor Designate, Prue Leith CBE, as well as the companies and individuals who have supported the students’ progress.
