• SOLD OUT Archie Brennan: Journeys in Tapestry

Join Mary Lane, former Executive Director of the American Tapestry Alliance, and Susan Martin Maffei, artist weaver and Brennan’s partner in life and work for 30 years in this online discussion.

Susan and Mary will discuss the creation of Brennan’s celebrated series, Dersu Uzala, shedding light on Brennan’s work, and the values he imparted in the many classes he taught around the world. Archie’s dedication to the field of contemporary tapestry, along with his keen mind, forged an artistic path that highlighted the practice of weaving and the material nature of the cloth, while also engaging with current thinking from the larger art world.

Exhibition co-curated with National Museums Scotland

Exhibition supported by the Dovecot Foundation, Willian Grant Foundation and The Cordis Charitable Trust. This project has been partly funded through Art Happens, Art Fund’s crowd-funding platform.
