Join celebrated Edinburgh artist, designer, and maker Frances Priest to hear about her fascinating approach to pattern and decoration in ceramic.
In response to the Julie Cope ceramic tiles in Dovecot’s current Grayson Perry exhibition, Frances will reflect on the challenges and complexities of creating work on a large scale, and will share the stories and inspiration behind her incredible recent commission, The Tiled Corridor, for the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
About Frances Priest
Artist, designer, and maker Frances Priest specialises in ceramics. Exploring languages of ornament from different cultures, places, and periods in history, Priest creates intricate and colourful ceramic objects that celebrate this fascination for pattern. Her work is held in the National Museums of Scotland, the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, and the Victoria & Albert Museum London, and recent commissions include The Tiled Corridor at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
