• How to Draw Like a Fashion Designer

Do you want to sharpen up your drawing skills? Look no further! Join us on this practical class to learn drawing tricks and fashion design tips with inspiration from the Liberty exhibition. Based on the bestselling Thames & Hudson books ‘How to Draw Like a Fashion Designer’ and ‘How to Draw Vintage Fashion’, this class will show how to create a fashion template or croquis, including fashion proportions as well as how to turn a stick figure into a full figure; how to draw skirts, trousers, jackets and dresses onto the fashion template; and how to develop a collection, including the creation of complete outfits and seasonal looks. Aimed at 12-18 year-olds, the class is perfect for budding fashion designers and enthusiasts of all ages alike!

Dennis Nothdruft is Curator of the Fashion and Textile Museum, London. He has curated numerous important fashion exhibitions including 1920s Jazz Age Fashion & Photographs, The World of Anna Sui and LIBERTY Art Fabrics & Fashion, and previously worked as a designer with Zandra Rhodes.
