To coincide with the exhibition made, unmade Dovecot is hosting a series of conversation events between Julie Brook and a diverse collection of award winning artists and art directors.
This conversation occurs between Brook and Roanne Dods who was until recently Dovecot’s Deputy Director and is currently Artistic Director of PAL Labs. Dods has worked across the cultural sector in the last 18 years. For 11 of those years she was the Director of the Jerwood Charitable Foundation where she oversaw the expansion of their activities across all artforms, supporting talented artists across theatre, jazz, opera, film, dance, visual art, craft and cross-disciplinary work. In 2004, she was presented with an Angel Award by ISPA for “innovative and spectacular work across the artistic spectrum” by Sir John Tusa. The Cultural Leadership Programme appointed her one of the Women to Watch in 2010.
Dods has been the founding co-director of Mission Models Money with Clare Cooper since 2005. She also supported the start of The Work Room (for independent choreographers at Tramway, Glasgow) and Innovative Craft (with Amanda Game and Elizabeth Goring). She is currently a Board member of Cove Park and a Fellow of the International Futures Forum and the Royal Scottish Academy. She was, until recently Vice-Chair of Scottish Ballet and on the Boards of Sistema Scotland, Fuel, Young Vic and the Jerwood Space.
Tickets for this event are free but must be reserved in advance from Eventbrite.
