• Edinburgh Fringe Opening Event: Little Sparta & Lost Boat Party

To celebrate the opening of the Edinburgh Festival 2021, Dovecot is excited to present Little Sparta in a live in-person instrumental performance of their latest album Lost Boat Party. Named in tribute to the late Ian Hamilton Finlay, the three-piece will perform with an introduction from artist Jock McFadyen in the context of his new exhibition and collaborative artwork with Dovecot.

Little Sparta are guitarist Alan Boyd, violinist Susie Honeyman and drummer Scott Skinner. Their latest release Lost Boat Party features Susie’s Mekons bandmate Sally Timms. An earlier album, Close: Music for and Exhibition is a collaboration with photographer Allan Pollok-Morris on his collection of images of Scottish landscape art.
