Culture Crawl Edinburgh, sponsored by Brodies LLP, takes a 10 mile night-time adventure around the city. As you wind your way around the capital, you’ll uncover a route steeped in history, art, and culture, whilst gaining exclusive access to amazing buildings including the restored Victorian Swimming Baths that is now home to Dovecot Tapestry Studio and Gallery. The route takes in Fettes College, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Parliament Hall, Dovecot, Summerhall, The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and finally Maggie’s Centre Edinburgh.
Masterminded by Alexander McCall Smith who composed an opera Tapestry of Many Threads for Dovecot’s centenary, the Culture Crawl will allow hundreds of art-lovers to secure after-hours access to a host of his favourite buildings.McCall Smith has created his own story for the occasion and will hopefully be introducing the event, which will cover a ten-mile route, when it gets under way around 6pm on 25 September.
