How Elizabeth David Spiced up Mid-Century Menus

This free online talk is part of our Mid-Century Musings series, a collection of ten-minute online talks that offer a glimpse into Mid-Century Modern style and history.

In 1950 Elizabeth David published ‘A Book of Mediterranean Food’ which sparked the beginning of a revolution in Britain’s eating habits. Suddenly there was a surge of coffee bars and bistros opening all over the high street! From the items used in the average household kitchen to those of a Michelin-star restaurant, food and social life in Britain have not been the same since Elizabeth David.

Celebrated in our current exhibition Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant, learn how Elizabeth David spiced up Mid-Century menus in this free online talk with Dovecot team member Susan Mc Ateer.
