• Pattern & Play: Contemporary Textile Design

Taking Orla Kiely A Life in Pattern as a starting point, Dovecot Exhibitions Curator Kate Grenyer will explore playfulness in textile and pattern design.

Keily’s work is influenced by a broad range of designers from Paul Poiret, through to mid-century figures such as Alexander Girard and Peter Hall. Alongside these sources of inspiration, the talk will also look at Scandinavian design influences tracing how the story of play in design informs the joyfulness evident in Kiely’s patterns as well as her approach to producing homeware, bags and fashion.

A must attend event for anyone interested in contemporary trends in textile and pattern design!
