The Dovecot Foundation ensures the future of tapestry weaving in Scotland by building on the legacy and archive of 100 years of Dovecot’s history.

This charitable organisation, founded by Alastair and Elizabeth Salvesen in 2010, shares the Studios’ passion for making, and is committed to bringing the excellence of tapestry weaving and the creative arts to a wider audience.

Central to The Dovecot Foundation’s vision is the support and development of weaving in Scotland through the Dovecot Apprentice programme. During this three-year apprenticeship, new weavers learn from Master Weavers to build their creative identity informed by historical, cultural and technical knowledge.

We welcome donations to The Dovecot Foundation to support this vital apprenticeship programme and the work of Dovecot Studios, a world-leading tapestry studio.

The Dovecot Foundation is a registered charity no. SC041370.
