• David Cochrane

David Cochrane is a tapestry weaver and artist based in Scotland. Cochrane trained as a Master Weaver at Dovecot, initially undertaking a five-year apprenticeship, where he learned tapestry weaving traditions passed down through a direct line of weavers dating back to William Morris’s Studio at Merton Abbey. Cochrane wove on a series of prestigious Dovecot commissions, including the R. B. Kitaj tapestry for the British Library and Victoria Crowe’s The Large Tree Group Tapestry, which hangs in the National Museum of Scotland.
