Freya Sewell

Freya joined Dovecot Tapestry Studio as an Apprentice Weaver in 2010 whilst completing her final year of MA (Hons) Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art. The binary nature of her degree, combining studio practice with academic research, fostered her holistic approach to making. She was drawn to the Studio by its tradition of master craftsmanship contributed greatly to the Studio’s future by learning the language of weaving under the Studio’s current team progressing to the position of Junior Weaver and then Weaver before leaving the Studio in 2015 to pursue new challenges.
