• Rudi Richardson

Rudi Richardson was introduced to tapestry through his studies of Navajo weaving at college in 1971. He furthered his education by assisting the San Francisco Tapestry Workshop to produce banners for Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party in 1978, following which he joined the Workshop as a weaver. Rudi worked with San Francisco artist Mark Adams for many years, and between 2007 and 2013 he was a weaver for West Dean Tapestry Studio working on The Hunt of the Unicorn tapestry at Stirling Castle. Rudi joined Dovecot in 2014 and has worked on key projects including Butterfly by Alison Watt, Leathersellers tapestry by Victoria Crowe, and “Glass Onion”: by Magne Furuholmen.

Rudi left Dovecot Studios in 2023.
