Artists, Weavers & Tufters

Dovecot Tapestry Studio was first established when two weavers Glassbrook and Berry were employed from the workshops of William Morris to produce tapestries in Edinburgh for the Marquess of Bute. Over one hundred years later and the weavers at Dovecot still create notable textile works of art in collaboration with both established and emerging international artists. From artists Frank Stella to Chris Ofili and Master Weavers Archie Brennan to Naomi Robertson; the history of Dovecot's projects and achievements can be tracked by the designs created and yarns woven by them all.
