Cave Painting

Cave Painting is part of Dovecot Patterns, a selection of tapestries created by Dovecot's weavers which evokes a cultural conversation through pattern that reaches back thousands of years. Created by Master Weaver David Cochrane this tapestry is an interpretation of patterns found in prehistoric North American cave paintings. The red colouring evokes the earthy tones of cave paintings, while the pattern of geometric and circular shapes reference the motifs found in this earliest known form of art.

This tapestry is available is for sale at £2,000 inclusive of VAT. All funds raised from sales support the work of Dovecot Studios and the tapestry apprenticeship scheme.
