In late 2007 Chris Clyne, a highly respected clothes designer in London and Edinburgh, was commissioned to explore how she could design ‘clothing’ to genuinely project the weaver’s art. To begin with, there was a Corset made and then a Headpiece, with Shoes following on later in a frivolous moment. The Shoes were constructed from seven intricately woven pieces and built onto a platform with a fine wooden stiletto heel carved in the shape of a tapestry bobbin.
