Clan Buchanan is part of Dovecot Patterns, a selection of tapestries created by Dovecot's weavers which evokes a cultural conversation through pattern that reaches back thousands of years. Weaver Louise Trotter researched the clan tartan of her Scottish family to create this tapestry. The history of Clan Buchanan dates back to the 11th century, with the tartan created in the 19th century. Often associated with kilts and clothing, this representation of Scottish tartan is personal and offers a new interpretation of a heritage pattern.
This tapestry is available for sale at £2,000 inclusive of VAT. All funds raised from sales will support the work of Dovecot Studios and the tapestry apprenticeship scheme.
