Fancy Bird

Fancy Bird is part of Dovecot Patterns, a selection of tapestries created by Dovecot's weavers which evokes a cultural conversation through pattern that reaches back thousands of years. Traditional Russian folk patterns were the inspiration for this tapestry by weaver Rudi Richardson. The floral and strawberry motifs are common in Russian folk art, particularly in the Khokhloma style, which is traditional wood painting on ornamental objects. The contrasting colours and curving ornamentation of the pattern are harmoniously brought together in this tapestry.

This tapestry is available for sale at £2,000 inclusive of VAT. All funds raised from sales support the work of Dovecot Studios and the tapestry apprenticeship scheme.
