Since 2014 Dovecot has developed an extraordinary body of work in collaboration with fine art photographer Garry Fabian Miller. These artworks explore light, colour, texture and the depth of field between images in photography and three-dimensional textile. In the past year, during the depths of lockdown, artist and weavers have drawn on both physical and digital conversation to create two new works to investigate the qualities and effects of representing light with gun-tufted wool.
Gathered Gold Light is the first new project in three years between Fabian Miller and Dovecot. It presents a new challenge to contrast the burning centre of light with the surrounding darkness and the circle of illumination between them.
The Gathered Gold Light Artist Proof is available now, and will then be made available to commission in a limited edition of three Hearth Rugs.
