Glasgow-born artist Adrian Wiszniewski is known for his large scale figurative paintings. The image used in this rug is not spiritual but about the communication between minds, equating to the collaborative process and the thoughts transferred between artist and weaver. Almost a psychic moment, ‘a meeting of minds’ – the central dots of the foreheads of the figures relate to transmitting and receiving ideas between artist and weaver and their thoughts on colour translation. The range of shades and mastery of colour blending by the Dovecot tufters is evident in the surface detail achieved in this rug.
