• Dazzle: Jewellery

Dazzle jewellery exhibition returning, for the third Dovecot showing, has selected some exciting new designers for what will be its 32nd Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Following stints at the Assembly Rooms and the Traverse Theatre, Dazzle now sees Dovecot as its Festival home.

Dazzle is a Fringe fixture now and has a huge following, attracting many collectors and visitors from all over the world. Many make their annual visit as part of their regular Edinburgh Festival. The selection of work on show is vast and varied, comprising major names and exciting younger talent, with an international representation.

This years’ showing features Edinburgh graduate Kelly Munro, who has won the 2014 Rising Stars Award and also a new young jeweller Emma Calvert who uses textiles in her innovative work. Cara Tonkin, Suzanne Claire, Caroline Finlay, Katie Roberts, Chris Boland, Elizabeth Campbell, Grace Hamilton and Chie Mannami are also all new to Edinburgh Dazzle and will exhibit alongside established designers such as Mark Nuell, Jane Adam, Kaz Robertson and Grace Girvan.

Dazzle will also be featuring the work of Edinburgh printmaker Paul Furneaux. Paul works using traditional Japanese woodcut techniques, notably Mokuhanga, exploring landscape and interior space.

Last years’ Dovecot Follow the Thread exhibition was a massive success for Dazzle and we are confident that a stunning collection of over 2,000 pieces of contemporary jewellery from over 50 makers will be as exciting for 2014.
