• Interweaving: Future Trends in Making

Interweaving is Dovecot’s Symposium for makers, doers and thinkers to come together to discuss and develop new practice and thinking.

The world of craft and making has been going through all manner of change and profile in these last couple of years. The quality of work, breadth of engagement and cross-artform collaborations have brought the importance of making to the fore of contemporary artistic practice.

At Dovecot, as we celebrate our centenary exhibition Weaving the Century, we are reminded of the innovation in our world that happens through the collaboration between artist/designer, weaver and commissioner – a particular kind of thinking through making.

We are thrilled to be hosting this symposium in collaboration with V&A at Dundee to think to the future of our work and those of others whose practice might inform this, and hopefully yours.

We have brought together speakers and contributors who have been practicing, thinking, curating and making across disciplines, within collaborations and developing new work. We look forward to seeing you on 26th September.
