• Introduction to Pattern Cutting for Knitwear Workshop

Learn how to design the perfect knitwear pattern fit for you.

This knitwear pattern cutting workshop takes inspiration from garments in our current exhibition Knitwear: Chanel to Westwood (link to page). Experienced Knitwear Designer Jeni Allison will guide you through the process of pattern cutting specifically for knitwear.

This workshop is an introduction to the art of pattern cutting. You will sketch out a design your own garment and learn how to draft your pattern to fit your shape. We’ll also delve into the world of calculations as you plan how you’ll knit your design.

You will leave with the beginnings of your pattern and the knowledge to knit your project at home.

This class will suit experienced hand or machine knitters.
