Explore over 150 stunning knitted items from two of Europe's largest private vintage collectors, Mark and Cleo Butterfield. Celia will give you an overview of the development of knitwear design from the 1920s to the 1990s, with deeper insights into some of the garments featured in the exhibition. The tour will examine how evolving knitting techniques were accompanied by the rise of concepts such as modernism, pop art, punk and deconstruction, leading to a wide range of innovative knitwear designs.
