Responsible for creating some of the company’s most iconic textiles and designs, May was also the founder of the Women’s Guild of Arts and was a key female force behind the Arts and Crafts movement.

Rowan Bain is Senior Curator at the The William Morris Gallery and lead curator for the exhibition May Morris: Art & Life. Her publications include May Morris: Arts & Crafts Designer and William Morris’s Flowers. Her interests include nineteenth century textiles and decorative arts.
