• ONLINE Swinging London: A Lifestyle Revolution from Conran to Quant

Step into 1960s Swinging London with Dennis Nothdruft, Head of Exhibitions at the Fashion and Textile Museum, and Celia Joicey, Director of Dovecot, as they discuss the history, content and contemporary context for the exhibition Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant.

This live talk and online exhibition tour spans the fashion, textiles, furniture, lighting, homewares and ceramics created by a group of radical young creatives in Britain from the 1950s to the 1970s. After the destruction of World War Two, a new generation set about redefining modern life. This talk introduces some of the artists, designers, photographers and intellectuals who helped to deliver the lifestyle revolution including Mary Quant, Terence Conran, Bernard and Laura Ashley, Nigel Henderson and Eduardo Paolozzi.

Every ticket sold supports the work of The Dovecot Foundation to advance visual art, craft and design in all its forms.
