• Painting & Tapestry: Victoria Crowe & Naomi Robertson in Conversation

What are the qualities of painting and tapestry and how do they differ? Join Master Weaver Naomi Robertson and artist Victoria Crowe as they discuss how they capture colour, light, texture and transparency in their respective mediums and how they approach the overall mood and aesthetic they want to convey. Crowe and Robertson have collaborated on a series of artworks including The Large Tree Group and the Leathersellers Tapestry.

Victoria Crowe is one of Scotland’s most celebrated artists, who is marking her 80th birthday and an extraordinary six-decade career with a new body of work and exhibitions on the Dovecot Balcony and at The Scottish Gallery.

Naomi Robertson is Head of Tapestry and Master Weaver at Dovecot Studios. She has worked with Victoria Crowe for three decades to translate her paintings into tapestry and, more recently, gun-tufted artworks.
