• Regenerative Textiles Scotland Exhibition

Regenerative Textiles Scotland invites you to join us at our inaugural event in Edinburgh on the 5th and 6th of July at Dovecot Studios.

Regenerative Textiles Scotland is a new initiative and collaboration between Dr John Ennis, Journeys in Design, Anna Freemantle-Zee, founder of the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival and Susan Anderson, Publishing Editor of The Journal of Scottish Yarns.

It exists to support and enable the Scottish textiles economy with a symposium and allied exhibition, offering a nest for the wonderful diversity of voices we have in Scotland, and specifically enabling new thinking and action in our move to the new regenerative textiles economy.

The inaugural exhibition follows the textile journeys of key garments from established contemporary producers in Scotland and showcases new work from Scottish university fashion and textile students. National initiatives are highlighted supporting regenerative textile cultures and showcasing an additional local initiative from this year’s allied university.

The inaugural symposium draws enquiring minds together to share new thinking, highlighting key journeys on the road to regenerative textile production. Voices heard come from Farming, Processing and Production, from Retailer, Consumer and Fashion, and from the broader cultural bases of Education, Heritage, and Activism

Conserving, rehabilitating, and actively improving: textiles are regenerative when method and outcomes enhance the planet.

Exhibition is free to view on the Dovecot Studios Weaving Balcony from 12:00 - 15:00
