Admission Prices

Dovecot Studios has a number of paid exhibitions throughout the year showcasing the best in contemporary art, design and textiles.

Tickets can be bought in advance online or in person on the day. We recommend booking in advance for some exhibitions to guarantee tickets are available. 

Ticket prices for paid exhibitions are as follows: 

*Ticket price includes a voluntary donation of 10%. If you would prefer to purchase a ticket without donation, this is available at point of sale, online or in person.

Delve into six decades of groundbreaking textile design by IKEA. The exhibition features 180 iconic fabrics that showcase the rich history of the Swedish furniture retailer's commitment to innovation, collaboration, and experimental design.

Picking up the Thread: The Past, Present and Future of Tapestry

20 October 2025 to 14 February 2026

Featuring 69 artists from nine countries and showcasing over 90 separate tapestries, the exhibition highlight the skills and experience of British Tapestry Group members.

Drawing on Style: Original Fashion Illustration

10 January 2026 to 11 April 2026

Featuring works by artists including Antonio Lopez, Kenneth Paul Block and Steven Stipelman, the exhibition explores how fashion illustrators bridged journalism and fine art at a moment when the illustrated image still rivalled photography. 

The Biba Story: 1964–1975

6 February 2026 to 27 June 2026

Explore how fashion phenomenon Biba blossomed to become the world’s first lifestyle label, sparking a revolution in how people shopped and how Biba earned its spot as the brand that epitomises 1960s and 1970s fashion. 

David Remfry: In Residence

21 February 2026 to 13 June 2026

Remfry to brings his lyrical artistic vision to Edinburgh, featuring 30 evocative paintings, including a sensitive portrait of his friend, Alan Cumming and his first-ever tapestry, created with Dovecot Studios.

Costume Couture: Sixty Years of Cosprop

18 July 2026 to 9 January 2027

This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition features many costumes never seen in public before, celebrating of sixty years of Cosprop’s creativity and a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of this celebrated costume house.
