Weaving Paradise – The Origins of Persian Garden Carpets

Originating in Iran, or Persia as it was once known, garden carpets are like maps of Persian gardens seen from a bird’s-eye view. Discover the rich relationship between Persian gardens and the concept of paradise, and their breath-taking representation on rugs and carpets over the last 500 years with Andrew Haughton from The Nomad’s Tent Edinburgh.

Andrew Haughton is the owner and manager of The Nomad’s Tent, specialist suppliers of oriental carpets, rugs and kilims as well as tribal art, textiles & other treasures from Iran, India, Turkey and other points East.

Tickets £12 (+ booking fee)
Includes complimentary admission to Orla Kiely A Life in Pattern exhibition until 6pm at which time the talk will begin.

Every ticket sold supports the work of The Dovecot Foundation to advance visual art, craft and design in all its forms.
