• Chris Clyne: Headpiece

In late 2007 Chris Clyne, a highly respected clothes designer in London and Edinburgh, was commissioned to explore how she could design ‘clothing’ to genuinely project the weaver’s art. To begin with, there was a Corset made and then a Headpiece, with Shoes following on later in a frivolous moment.The pieces woven for the Headpiece, long strips of varying lengths, were stiffened with corset boning, backed with multicoloured strips of stitched satin and then twisted and shaped into exotic loops and curves.
