From the Highlands to Haute Couture, and Coco Chanel to 90s Grunge, tartan and tweed are fabrics with a strong cultural identity. Author Caroline Young looks at the journey these fabrics have made from traditional cloth to stylish fabrics and how the use of colour has informed their history.
